Trough-type cable trays, also known as trough-type cable trays, are fully enclosed cable trays (or simply "trough boxes") primarily used for laying control cables for highly sensitive systems such as computer cables and communication cables. They provide shielding against electrical interference and protection against highly corrosive environments. The material must be selected based on the environment: composite epoxy resin anti-corrosion and flame-retardant types are used in highly corrosive environments; composite epoxy resin cable trays are used in outdoor locations; and composite structures are required for large span sections.
The specifications of the supports and hangers must be configured according to the cable tray specifications, number of layers, span, and load requirements. When multiple layers are installed, the center-to-center distance between layers is 200, 250, 300, or 350 mm. Protective covers are supplied with the trough body; other accessories are interchangeable with ladder-type and tray-type cable trays. Metal cable tray systems must be reliably grounded; spring coils should be installed at the grounding connection points in vibrating environments.
